Starting January 2025, Providence Health & Services of Oregon has terminated its contract with the Oregon Direct Aetna network, resulting in Providence facilities becoming out-of-network for Unite Here NW Trust Fund participants.

Participants who are affected by this change are advised to consider transitioning care to new in-network providers.  You can use Aetna’s online search provider tool.

For those undergoing treatment for serious illnesses, pregnancy, or injuries with an affected facility, the following options are available to you:

  • Aetna’s National Precertification clinical staff can review your case and determine if you require transition of care coverage. Then, you will be directed to Aetna Member Services or the Aetna online provider search tool.
  • Primary care physicians (PCP’s) can assist in transferring care to in-network specialists. Members without a PCP can use Aetna’s online provider search tool.
  • For a limited time, ongoing care for serious illnesses may be covered at in-network benefit levels if rendered by an out-of-network specialist.

You can access the Aetna Online Provider Search Tool here.

Note: Providence providers in Jackson and Josephine counties will remain in-network until February 17, 2025 as part of a separate contract with PrimeCare IPA, though the hospital in Medford is part of the termination.
